My Journey at Global Alliance Academic: Where Learning Meets Real-World Skills
By: Syed Shazan Hussain Abidi – Junior IT TrainerÂ
Junior IT Trainer
When I first joined Global Alliance Academic in October 2025 as a Junior IT Trainer, I knew I was stepping into an environment that valued quality education. What I didn’t realise yet was just how much I would grow, learn, and transform both professionally and personally during my time here. Now, looking back at my journey so far, I can confidently say that this placement has been the most important step in my career development.
Â
Why Global Alliance Academic?
Â
Before joining here, I had two years of experience working in IT support in India, plus my academic background in Computer Science. I was good at solving problems and helping users, but I wanted to take my knowledge deeper. I wanted to understand how enterprise systems work, how they are secured, and how to explain complex technology to others.
Â
I chose Global Alliance Academic because of their reputation as a specialist training provider focused on Microsoft technologies — specifically Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure. Unlike many other training organisations that just teach theory, Global Alliance Academic stands out because they focus on what the industry actually needs. Their philosophy is simple but powerful: bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real job skills. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Â
What I Do Day-to-Day
Â
As a Junior IT Trainer, my role is a perfect mix of technical work, teaching, and continuous learning. I work closely with senior tutors, supporting them in delivering training sessions, and I also lead my own sessions as I gain more confidence.
Â
My work covers everything from the basics of Microsoft 365 to more advanced cloud concepts in Azure. Some of the key things I have been involved in include:
Â
- Teaching students how to manage user accounts, licenses, and domains in the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.
- Explaining security concepts such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Self-Service Password Reset, and identity management in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
- Guiding learners through email flow configurations, data migrations, and how to use tools like Microsoft Defender to keep organisations safe.
- Preparing clear study notes, lab guides, and practical examples to make difficult topics easy to understand.
Â
The best part of my role is seeing that moment when a student finally understands a concept they found difficult. Being able to take complicated technical jargon and turn it into simple, relatable explanations is a skill I have developed here, and it is something I am very proud of.
Â
Learning from the Best
Â
One thing that makes Global Alliance Academic truly special is the culture of mentorship. I have never felt like I was just “left to do the work.” From day one, my senior tutor has been there to guide me, answer my questions, and push me to be better. They didn’t just tell me what to do — they explained why we do it, which has deepened my understanding massively.
Â
Balancing my teaching duties with my own studies was a challenge at first, but with the support and encouragement of the team, I successfully passed my MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) and AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) certifications. Achieving these was a big goal for me, and it proved that the training methods here really work. You learn by doing, and you learn by teaching — which is the best way to master technology.
Â
How I Have Grown
Â
When I started, I was an IT support person who knew how to fix things. Today, I am a confident professional who understands how systems are built, managed, and secured.
Â
- Technically: I have moved from a user-level understanding to an administrative level. I now know how cloud infrastructure powers businesses across industries like finance, healthcare, and construction.
- Personally: My communication skills and confidence have improved beyond measure. Standing in front of a classroom, managing different personalities, and adapting to different learning styles has taught me skills that no textbook could ever teach.
Â
My Message to Future Students
Â
If you are thinking about starting your training or your placement journey here, I have one message for you: This is the right place to be.
Â
Global Alliance Academic does not just prepare you for an exam — they prepare you for a career. The focus on practical skills, industry standards, and real-world scenarios means that when you finish your course or placement, you are ready to step into a job and add value from day one.
Â
For me, this experience has given me a clear direction. I am now passionate about cloud technologies and aim to build my career as a Cloud Administrator or Technical Trainer. The foundation I have built here is solid, and I know I am ready for whatever comes next.
Â
I am truly grateful to be part of the Global Alliance Academic family. It is more than just a training centre — it is a place where careers are shaped, and where you realise just how much you are capable of achieving.
